Dear Chief Padilla,
Please accept this letter as notification of my resignation from my role as part of the Kent Police
Department.
I have valued my time with the department, but I am stepping down to pursue other
opportunities in the criminal justice field. I believe this career change will be better suited to my
skills and allow me to spend more time with my family. The support I have received from the
Officers in the department, has made my decision all the more difficult, and I regret the fact
that I will no longer be working with this group of individuals.
I am unsure of what the proper protocol is for my resignation, as I am still in the field training
phase of my employment. I am willing to fulfill my two weeks if that is what is required of me,
please feel free to contact me. My next scheduled day is this Saturday the 2"d of September.
Thank you for your time,
