Call to Order Commissioner Thomas called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM. 2. Roll Call All Commissioners were present. 3. Changes to the Agenda There were no changes to the agenda. 4. Anuroval of the Minutes Commissioner Thomas made a motion to approve the minutes from the February 22, 2023 regularly scheduled Civil Service Commission meeting. Motion was moved and seconded by Commissioner Weissich; motion passed 3-0. S. Consent Items to Accent A. Memo dated February 24, 2023 from Chief Padilla providing the Commission with a notice of discipline for Ofr. Vince Alatorre. B. Letters dated February 27, 2023 from Chief Padilla notifying Ofrs. Oziel Arjona and Keanu Hamilton that they successfully completed probation and are appointed to regular employment status effective March 1, 2023. C. Email dated March 4, 2023 from Corrections Officer Ryan Armstrong tendering his resignation effective March 27, 2023 and corresponding memo from Chief Padilla dated March 6, 2023 accepting his resignation. D. Letter dated March 9, 2023 from Chief Padilla notifying Evidence Custodian Amber Ballentine that she successfully completed probation and is appointed to regular employment status effective March 16, 2023. Commissioner Mitchell seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0. 6. Items to Approve A. Continuous testing eligibility list for Entry Level Police Officer that was established on February 26, 2023. B. Continuous testing eligibility list for Entry Level Corrections Officer that was established on February 26, 2023. C. Eligibility list for Administrative Assistant II that was established on March 2, 2023. There being no questions, Commissioner Thomas made a motion to approve items A-C. Commissioner Weissich seconded the motion; motion passed 3- 0. 7. Action Items A. Election of a new Chair in accordance with Rule 3.02- The Commission shall elect one of its members as Chair. The chair shall be appointed for a two (2) year term. Should a Chair resign or be removed from the position prior to the expiration of his or her term, the Commission, upon appointment of a new member, shall elect a new Chair. After discussion, Commissioner Weissich nominated Commissioner Thomas to serve as the next Chair. Commissioner Mitchell seconded the nomination and she was unanimously selected to be the Chair for the next two years by a vote of 3-0. S. For the Good of the Order All three Commissioners indicated that they would like to have a hard copy of the agenda packet mailed to them in advance of the meeting each month. The testing process will be administered through Aperture EQ and will be scheduled as soon as the Chief Examiner's schedule allows. The examination will consist of a Work Rating and an Assessment Center with three (3) exercises/components that will be evaluated.
