Environmental Covenant with State of Washington, Pollution Liability Insurance Agency and G/R Meeker Street LLC - Authorize Public Works Director Chad Bieren presented a drawing of the intersection of 64th and Meeker that included the Midtown 64 Apartment complex, built by Goodman Real Estate (G/R Meeker). There is a portion of the G/R Meeker property that had been contaminated decades ago by an underground tank located at a former Shell Station. The contamination made its way across the street from the Shell site, underneath Meeker Street and onto the G/R Meeker property. G/R Meeker removed the soil, cleaned up the area and installed an activated carbon wall in a portion of the right-of-way, which prevents further pollution of the property. A limited license agreement was entered into with the City and G/R Meeker. As part of the process of getting the property released they need to have an environmental covenant that restricts certain activities and uses of the G/R Meeker Property and the portion of the right-of-way containing the carbon Page 2 of 3 Public Works Committee CC PW Regular Meeting September 20, 2021 Minutes Kent, Washington wall.
