Approval of Minutes dated October 18, 2018 MOTION: Move to approve the Minutes dated October 18, 2018 RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS] MOVER: Marli Larimer, Councilmember SECONDER: Satwinder Kaur, Councilmember AYES: Fincher, Kaur, Larimer 5. 2014 Fee-in-Lieu Reallocation Springwood to Meridian Glen - Recommend MOTION: Move to recommend Council reallocate $34,050 of fee-in- lieu funds allocated to Springwood Park, amend the Community Parks Reinvestment Program budget, and authorize the future expenditure of these funds for capital improvements at Meridian Glen Park. RESULT: RECOMMENDED TO COUNCIL [UNANIMOUS] MOVER: Satwinder Kaur, Councilmember SECONDER: Marli Larimer, Councilmember AYES: Fincher, Kaur, Larimer 6. 2018 Third Quarter Fee-in-Lieu Funds Acceptance – Recommend Parks and Human Services Committee CC Parks Regular Meeting Minutes November 15, 2018 Kent, Washington Page 2 of 3 MOTION: Move to recommend Council accept $25,075.50 of fee-in- lieu funds, amend the Community Parks Reinvestment Program budget, and authorize the future expenditure of these funds for capital improvements at Springwood Park. Cell Tower Lease Agreement with T-Mobile at Riverbend - Recommend The option to extend the lease agreement was explained to the Committee. MOTION: Move to recommend the Kent City Council authorize Mayor Ralph to sign a new cell tower lease agreement with T-Mobile West LLC. Provider Roundtable – New Connections – Informational Lana Matthews explains what services New Connections provide to the population that has been incarcerated and now released such as assisting with acquiring Drivers License and other essential need services. To date, one thousand and six hundred people from the general population have received assistance. New Connections is seeking mentors, grant writers and general volunteer help to help with individual case management for successful rehabilitation back into society for those previously incarcerated. Other items needed are hygiene packs, winter clothing, and snack packs. 9. Provider Roundtable – Eileen & Callie’s Place – Informational Eileen & Callie’s Place is a 501(c)(c3) to support and mentor young ladies into adulthood who have aged out of foster care. “Celebrate 18” is an upcoming and ongoing program to help young ladies transition into adulthood by providing them with new clothing, mentorship, and career guidance. This event is held July 20, 2019. Eileen & Callie’s Place needs new clothes and shoes as well as accessories for the young ladies attending the event. 10. Provider Roundtable – Community Network Council – Informational Parks and Human Services Committee CC Parks Regular Meeting Minutes November 15, 2018 Kent, Washington Page 3 of 3 Community Network Council develops youth, primarily young men of color, by collaborating with the school district through academic coaching and mentoring. The goal is to start engaging with them at a young age and work with them throughout matriculation through school. They also work with the parents to ensure the children progress accordingly. Next phase is education on cultural identity. Community Network is in need of mentors and volunteers to support the mission as well as school supplies. 11.
