6. Resolution for Grant Application #18-2207 to the Recreation and
Conservation Office for the West Fenwick Park Renovation -
Recommend
Each grant cycle (every other year) Parks staff has been very successful in
pursuing funding for park development and acquisition of property through
the Washington Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO). Parks staff is
requesting authorization to submit a grant application to the RCO’s Land and
Water Conservation Fund program to help fund the West Fenwick Park
Renovation project. Currently, in the early design stages, the project aims to
update worn-out features in the park, i.e., the playground, picnic shelter and
add additional new amenities such as adding a Futsal court.
This was a unanimous vote.
MOTION: Move to recommend council adopt the resolution authorizing the
submittal of grant application #18-2207 to the Recreation and Conservation
Office, for funding assistance for the West Fenwick Park Renovation project.

7. 2018 May and June Fee-in-Lieu Funds
When developers subdivide small projects, they have the option to either
provide recreational space or pay into a fee-in-lieu to have funds go into a
nearby neighborhood park for improvements.
We have three fee-in-lieu payments
$29,700 at Chestnut Ridge Park
$16,650 at Lake Meridian Park
$11,925 at Clark Lake Park
For a total of $58,275.00. We have five years to spend the funds on
renovations and improvements.
This was a unanimous vote.
MOTION: Move to recommend Council accept $58,275 of fee-in-lieu
funds, amend the Community Parks Reinvestment Program budget,
and authorize the future expenditure of these funds for capital
improvements at Chestnut Ridge Park, Lake Meridian Park and Clark
Lake Park.
