Agenda:
1. Call to Order
Chair Piecewicz called the meeting to order at 5:33 PM
2. Roll Call All Commissioners present.
3. Changes to the Agenda There were no changes to the agenda.
4. Approval of the Minutes
Commissioner Thomas made a motion to approve the minutes from the
regularly scheduled July 25, 2018 Civil Service Commission meeting.
Motion was seconded by Commissioner Zaratkiewicz; motion passed 3-
0.
5. Consent Items to Accept
A. Letter dated July 17, 2018 from Chief Padilla to Maureen McCaughan
congratulating her on being hired as a Probationary Community Education
Specialist effective August 1, 2018.
B. Letters dated July 20, 2018 from Chief Examiner Winecka to Rochelle Blackwell
and Robert Patton notifying them that their names have been removed from the
Continuous Testing Eligibility List for the position of Experienced/Lateral Police
Officer effective July 20, 2018.
C. Letter dated July 20, 2018 from Chief Examiner Winecka to Daniel Wisniowicz
notifying him that his name has been removed from the Continuous Testing
Eligibility List for the position of Experienced/Lateral Corrections Officer effective
July 20, 2018.
D. Letters dated July 20, 2018 from Chief Examiner Winecka to Carson Denny and
Lacy Smith notifying them that their names have been removed from the
Continuous Testing Eligibility List for the position of Entry Level Corrections
Officer effective July 20, 2018.
E. Email dated August 1, 2018 from Ofr. Brian Lewis tendering his resignation
effective September 3, 2018.

F. Memo dated August 3, 2018 from Chief Padilla accepting the resignation of Ofr.
Brian Lewis and that his last day will be September 3, 2018.
G. Letter dated August 9, 2018 from Chief Padilla to Jarod Kasner confirming his
appointment to the rank of Assistant Chief effective August 5, 2018.
H. Letter dated August 9, 2018 from Chief Padilla to Joshua Bava confirming his
appointment to the rank of Sergeant effective August 16, 2018.
I. Letter dated August 9, 2018 from Chief Padilla to Matthew Wheeler confirming his
appointment to the rank of Sergeant effective August 16, 2018.
J. Letter dated August 16, 2018 from Chief Padilla to Sgt. Christopher Ward
notifying him that he successfully completed the probationary period for the rank
of Corrections Sergeant effective August 15, 2018 and is appointed to regular
employment status.
There being no questions, Chair Piecewicz made a motion to accept consent
items A-J. Commissioner Zaratkiewicz seconded; motion passed 3-0.
6. Items to Approve
A. Continuous Testing Eligibility list for Entry Level Police Officer that was
established on July 19, 2018.
B. Eligibility list for the position of Court Security Officer that was established on
August 7, 2018.
Chair Piecewicz made a motion to approve into record items A-B.
Commissioner Thomas seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0.
7. Action Items
There were no action items for discussion.
8. For the Good of the Order
Commissioner Zaratkiewicz reminded the Commissioners that he may not be in
attendance at the September 2018 meeting due to jury duty.
9. Adjournment
Chair Piecewicz made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Zaratkiewicz seconded
the motion; motion passed 3-0. Meeting was adjourned at 5:37 PM.
