Call to Order Chair Piecewicz called the meeting to order at 5:34 PM 2. Roll Call All Commissioners present. 3. Changes to the Agenda There were no changes to the agenda. 4. Approval of the Minutes Commissioner Thomas made a motion to approve the minutes from the regularly scheduled February 28, 2018 Civil Service Commission meeting. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Zaratkiewicz; motion passed 3-0. 5. Consent Items to Accept Consent Items to Accept YES Chair Piecewicz 1 A. Memo dated February 16, 2018 from Ofr. Chris Korus to Chief Thomas tendering his resignation effective March 5, 2018. B. Memo dated February 20, 2018 from Chief Thomas accepting the resignation of Ofr. Chris Korus. C. Memos dated February 22, 2018 from Chief Thomas notifying the Commission that Corrections Officer Matt Crawford will be returning to the hard side of the jail and CO Kenneth Holifield will be rotating to the Work Crew Coordinator assignment effective May 6, 2018. D. Letter dated February 23, 2018 from Chief Thomas to Matthew Fisher congratulating him on being hired as a Probationary Police Recruit Officer effective May 1, 2018. E. Letters dated February 28, 2018 from Chief Examiner Winecka to Entry Level candidates Taylor Lasko, Alec McClelland, and Kian Taheri notifying them that their names have been removed from the Continuous Testing Eligibility Lists for Corrections Officer and Police Officer effective February 28, 2018. Letters dated February 28, 2018 from Chief Examiner Winecka to Jordan Cookston and Sarah Durgin notifying them that their names have been removed from the Police Records Specialist eligibility list effective February 28, 2018. H. Memo dated March 1, 2018 from Chief Thomas notifying the Commission that Probationary Ofr. Devin Hill was discharged on March 1, 2018. I. Memo dated March 2, 2018 from Chief Thomas accepting the resignation of Ofr. Richie Plunkett effective April 12, 2018. J. Letter dated March 5, 2018 from Chief Thomas to Jacob Berry congratulating him on being hired as a Probationary Police Recruit Officer effective April 2, 2018. K. Memo dated March 5, 2018 from Chief Thomas notifying the Commission that Ofr. Alex Helms’ probationary period is being extended one month to June 16, 2018. L. Email dated March 12, 2018 from Michael Saponara tendering his resignation. M. Memo dated March 12, 2018 from Chief Thomas accepting the resignation of Ofr. Michael Saponara effective March 12, 2018. N. Letters dated March 13, 2018 from Chief Examiner Winecka to Hector Aponte, Aaron Beisel, Wade Birkins, Mark Collins, Corey Luck, Travis Martin, and Adam McCauley notifying them that their names have been removed from the Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Entry Level Police Officer effective March 13, 2018. Letters dated March 15, 2018 from Chief Examiner Winecka to Antonio Conrado, Spencer Cutler, Brandon Hibbard, Christopher Milne, Brandon Smith, Jordan Tranter, and Amanda Weed notifying them that their names have been removed from the Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Entry Level Police Officer effective March 15, 2018. Letter dated March 16, 2018 from Chief Thomas to Margaret Penman congratulating her on being hired as a Probationary Records Specialist effective April 2, 2018. U. Letter dated March 16, 2018 from Chief Thomas to Casey Clark congratulating him on being hired as a Probationary Police Recruit Officer effective April 2, 2018. V. Letter dated March 16, 2018 from Chief Examiner Winecka to Scott Stopka notifying him that his name was removed from the Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Experienced/Lateral Police Officer effective March 16, 2018. There being no questions, Chair Piecewicz made a motion to accept consent items A-V. Commissioner Thomas seconded; motion passed 3-0. 6. Items to Approve A. Revised job description for the position of Police Records Supervisor. B. Revised job description for the position of Police Records Specialist. C. Continuous Testing Eligibility list for Lateral/Experienced Police Officer that was established on February 6, 2018. D. Continuous Testing Eligibility list for Lateral/Experienced Police Officer that was established on February 28, 2018. E. Continuous Testing Eligibility list for Entry Level Police Officer that was established on March 1, 2018. F. Continuous Testing Eligibility list for Entry Level Corrections Officer that was established on March 1, 2018. G. Eligibility list for the position of Transitional Police Officer that was established on March 21, 2018. Commissioner Thomas made a motion to approve into record items A-G. Chair Piecewicz seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0. 7. Action Items There were no action items for discussion. 8. For the Good of the Order Nothing further was brought before the Commission as it was a special meeting. 9. Adjournment Commissioner Thomas made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Zaratkiewicz seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0. Meeting was adjourned at 5:40 PM.
