A RESOLUTION of the city council of the
city of Kent, Washington, recognizmg White Horse
Crossmg Neighborhood Council.
RECITALS
A. The City of Kent has developed a Neighborhood Program to
promote and sustain an environment that responds to residents by building
partnerships between the City and 1ts res1dents. In add1t1on, the City of
Kent encourages residents to work together to form geographically distmct
neighborhood councils as a means to foster communication among
res1dents and to enhance their sense of commun1ty.
B. The City of Kent recognizes and supports neighborhood
counc1ls by endorsmg a process to establish neighborhood boundaries,
approve neighborhood councils, and prov1de neighborhood grant matching
program opportun1t1es to make Improvements m defined neighborhoods.
C. The Wh1te Horse Crossing neighborhood consists of one
hundred and nine households.
D. The White Horse Crossing neighborhood is located on Kent's
East Hill and is situated generally to the west of 128th Place SE, to the
White Horse Crossing Neighborhood
Council
north of SE 256th Street, to the east of 124th Avenue SE and to the south of
SE 252nd Place. The Nerghborhood is shown on the attached Exhibrt.
E. On November 13, 2012, the White Horse Crossing
Neighborhood submrtted an officral regrstration form to request that the
City recogmze the Whrte Horse Crossing Nerghborhood Council and to allow
the Nerghborhood to take part m the City's Nerghborhood Program.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CiiY COUNCIL OF THE CiiY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
RESOLUTION
SECTION 1. -Recogmtion of Neighborhood Council. -The City
Council for the City of Kent hereby acknowledges the effort and
commitment of the Whrte Horse Crossrng nerghborhood and all those who
partrcipated rn formrng the White Horse Crossrng Nerghborhood Councrl.
The Kent City Council hereby recognizes White Horse Crossrng
Neighborhood Council as an offrcial Nerghborhood Councrl of the City of
Kent, supports Whrte Horse Crossrng Nerghborhood Councrl community
building efforts, and confers on the Whrte Horse Crossrng Nerghborhood
Councrl all opportun1t1es offered by the City's Neighborhood Program.
SECTION 2. -Severab1litv. If any section, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause or phrase of this resolution rs declared unconstitutional or
invalid for any reason, such decrsion shall not affect the val1d1ty of the
remamrng port1ons of this resolution.
SECTION 3. -Ratification. Any act consrstent wrth the authority
and pnor to the effective date of this resolutron rs hereby ratified and
affirmed.

SECTION 4. -Effective Date. This resolution shall take effect and
be in force 1mmed1ately upon its passage.
