A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the
City of Kent, Washmgton, amend1ng Resolut1on
1757 by changmg the name of the "South Kent
Community Neighborhood Council" to "Kent SODO
Neighborhood Counctl."
RECITALS
A. On June 5, 2007, the Kent City Council adopted Resolution
No. 1757 formally recogn1zmg the "South Kent Commun1ty Neighborhood
Council" as an official neighborhood council of the City of Kent, supporting
the neighborhood counCil's community building efforts, and conferring on
the neighborhood council all opportunities offered by the City's
neighborhood program.
B. After the City's adoption of Resolution No. 1757, the South
Kent Community Neighborhood Council voted on October 20, 2011 to
change the neighborhood council's name from "South Kent Community
Neighborhood CounCil" to "Kent SODO Neighborhood Council." The
neighborhood council wishes to remv1gorate their neighborhood and start
fresh w1th a new name.

C. With the exception of rev1sing the neighborhood council's
name, all other proviSions of Resolution No. 1757 remam unchanged.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CilY COUNCIL OF THE CilY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
RESOLUTION
SECTION 1. -Name Change. The name of the neighborhood
council recogmzed by Resolution No. 1757 is changed from the "South Kent
Neighborhood Council" to "Kent SODO Neighborhood Council."
SECTION 2. -Remammg Provisions. With the except1on of
changmg the name of the neighborhood council, all other prov1s1ons of
Resolution No. 1757 remam unchanged.
SECTION 3. -Ratification. Any act consistent with the authority
and pnor to the effect1ve date of th1s resolution IS hereby rat1f1ed and
aff1rmed.
SECTION 4. -Severability. If any section, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause or phrase of th1s resolution is declared unconstitutional or
invalid for any reason, such dec1s1on shall not affect the vaild1ty of the
remam1ng port1ons of th1s resolution.
SECTION 5. -Effective Date. Th1s resolution shall take effect and
be 1n force immediately upon 1ts passage.
