A RESOLUTION of the city council of the
city of Kent, Washmgton, recognizmg the Lake
Mend1an Village Townhome Neighborhood Council.
RECITALS
A. The City of Kent has developed a Neighborhood Program to
promote and sustam an environment that responds to residents by building
partnerships between the City and its residents. In addition, the City of
Kent encourages residents to work together to form geographically distmct
neighborhood councils as a means to foster commun1cat1on among
residents and to enhance their sense of community.
B. The City of Kent recognizes and supports neighborhood
councils by endorsing a process to establish neighborhood boundanes,
approve neighborhood councils, and provide neighborhood grant matching
program opportun1t1es to make improvements m defmed neighborhoods.
C. The Lake Meridian Village Townhome neighborhood consists of
twenty households occupymg md1v1dually-owned iots.
D. The Lake Meridian Village Townhome Neighborhood is located
on Kent's East Hill. The Neighborhood is shown on Exh1b1t A attached and
incorporated by this reference. It is s1tuated generally to the south of SE
256th Street, to the west of 138th Avenue SE, to the north of Lake Mendian,

with Neighborhood homes on the north and south side of SE 256th Place. A
lakefront park that 1s connected w1th the Neighborhood by a greenbelt that
is JOintly owned with neighboring property owners.
E. On April 12, 2011, the Lake Meridian Village Townhome
Neighborhood submitted an official registration form to request that the
City recognize the Lake Mendian Village Townhome Neighborhood Council
and to allow the Neighborhood to take part in the City's Neighborhood
Program.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
RESOLUTION
SECTION 1. -Recognition of Neighborhood Council. -The City
Council for the City of Kent hereby acknowledges the effort and
commitment of the Lake Mend1an Village Townhome neighborhood and all
those who part1c1pated 1n formmg the Lake Mend1an Village Townhome
Neighborhood Council. The Kent City Council hereby recognizes Lake
Mend1an Village Townhomes as an offic1al Neighborhood Council of the City
of Kent, supports Lake Meridian Village Townhomes community buildmg
efforts, and confers on the Lake Meridian Village Townhome Neighborhood
Council all opportunities offered by the City's Neighborhood Program.
SECTION 2. -Severability. If any section, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause or phrase of th1s resolution IS declared unconstitutional or
invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remaming portions of this resolution.
SECTION 3. -Ratification. Any act consistent with the authority
and prior to the effective date of this resolution 1s hereby rat1f1ed and
affirmed.

SECTION 4. -Effective Date. Th1s resolution shall take effect and
be in force 1mmed1ately upon 1ts passage.
PASSED at a regular open public meet1ng by the city council of the city
of Kent, Washington, this /7 ~day of May, 2011.
