RESOLUTION NO. __ / 9'_'11-_1 __
A RESOLUTION of the city council of the
city of Kent, Washington, recognizmg the Misty
Meadows Neighborhood Council.
RECITALS
A. The City of Kent has developed a Neighborhood Program to
promote and sustam an environment that responds to residents by building
partnerships between the City and its residents. In addition, the City of
Kent encourages residents to work together to form geographically distmct
neighborhood counCils as a means to foster communication among
residents and to enhance their sense of commumty.
B. The City of Kent recognizes and supports neighborhood
councils by endorsmg a process to establish neighborhood boundaries,
approve neighborhood councils, and provide neighborhood grant matching
program opportunities to make Improvements m def1ned neighborhoods.
C. The M1sty Meadows neighborhood cons1sts of one hundred and
sixty-two households occupying md1V1dually-owned lots.
D. The M1sty Meadows Neighborhood is located on Kent's East
Hill and is situated generally to the west of 132"d Avenue SE, to the north
of SE 232"d Place, along the east and west of 128th Place SE and to the

north and south of SE 228th Place. M1sty Meadows came into the City as
part of the Panther Lake annexation area. The Neighborhood is shown on
the attached Exh1b1t.
E. On March 7, 2011, the Misty Meadows Neighborhood
subm1tted an off1c1al registration form to request that the City recogmze
the M1sty Meadow Neighborhood Council and to allow the Neighborhood to
take part m the City's Neighborhood Program.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
RESOLUTION
SECTION 1. -Recognition of Neighborhood CounCJI. -The City
Council for the City of Kent hereby acknowledges the effort and
commitment of the Misty Meadows neighborhood and all those who
participated in formmg the M1sty Meadows Neighborhood Council. The Kent
City Council hereby recognizes Misty Meadows as an official Neighborhood
Council of the City of Kent, supports M1sty Meadows community build1ng
efforts, and confers on the M1sty Meadows Neighborhood Council all
opportunities offered by the City's Neighborhood Program.
SECTION 2. -Severabtlitv. If any section, subsect1on, paragraph,
sentence, clause or phrase of this resolution 1s declared unconst1tut10nal or
invalid for any reason, such dec1s1on shall not affect the validity of the
remammg port1ons of th1s resolution.
SECTION 3. -Rattficat10n. Any act consistent with the authority
and pnor to the effective date of th1s resolution IS hereby rat1f1ed and
affirmed.

SECTION 4. -Effective Date. This resolution shall take effect and
be m force immediately upon 1ts passage.
PASSED at a regular open public meeting by the c1ty council of the city
of Kent, Washington, this 15 day of March, 2011.
