Recognize Neighborhood Council
RESOLUTION NO. I g I 1
A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the
City of Kent, Washmgton, recognizing the Tudor
Square Neighborhood Council.
RECITALS
A. The City of Kent has developed a Neighborhood Program to
promote and susta1n an environment that responds to residents by buildmg
partnerships between the City and its res1dents. In addition, the City of
Kent encourages residents to work together to form geographically distinct
neighborhood counc1ls as a means to foster communication among
residents and to enhance their sense of community.
B. The City of Kent recognizes and supports neighborhood
councils by endorsmg a process to establish neighborhood boundanes,
approve neighborhood councils, and prov1de neighborhood grant matching
program opportun1t1es to make Improvements m defmed neighborhoods.
C. The Tudor Square neighborhood, which is bounded to the
north by SE 267th Place, to the east by 114th Avenue SE, to the south by
SE 270th Street and SE 270th Court, and to the west by llOth Avenue SE,
consists of 162 housmg units. On January 4, 2010, the Tudor Square
neighborhood completed and turned in an official registration form

requesting that the City recognize the Tudor Square Neighborhood Council,
allowing 1t to take advantage of all the opportunities offered by the City's
Neighborhood Program, including the C1ty's grant matchmg program.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
RESOLUTION
SECTION 1. -Recognition of Neighborhood Council. The City
Council for the City of Kent hereby acknowledges the effort and
commitment of the Tudor Square neighborhood and all those who
part1c1pated in forming the Tudor Square Neighborhood Council. The Kent
City Council hereby recognizes Tudor Square as an offic1al Neighborhood
Council of the City of Kent, supports Tudor Square's community bu1ld1ng
efforts, and confers on the Tudor Square Neighborhood Council all
opportunities offered by the City's Neighborhood Program.
SECTION 2. -SeverabilitY. If any section, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause or phrase of this resolution is declared unconst1tut1onal or
invalid for any reason, such dec1s1on shall not affect the validity of the
remaming portions of this resolution.
SECTION 3. -Ratification. Any act consistent with the authority
and prior to the effect1ve date of th1s resolut1on IS hereby ratified and
affirmed.
SECTION 4. -Corrections by City Clerk or Code Reviser. Upon
approval of the City Attorney, the City Clerk and the code reviser are
authonzed to make necessary corrections to th1s resolut1on, includmg the
correction of clencal errors; references to other local, state or federal laws,

codes, rules, or regulations; or resolution numbering and
section/subsection numbering.
SECTION 5. -Effective Date. This resolution shall take effect and
be m force 1mmed1ately upon its passage.
PASSED at a regular open public meetmg by the City Council of the
City of Kent, Washington, this /CJ day of January, 2010.
