HomeMy WebLinkAbout1793Resolution No. 1793 (Amending or Repealing Resolutions) CFN = 122 -Police/Fire Departments Passed -8/19/2008 Fees Relating to Kent Corrections Facility Programs and Kent Police Departments Repealed by Resolution No. 1807 RESOLUTION NO. ----"/:,_L,..7_9_3 __ A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Kent, Washmgton, establ1shmg and adoptmg a fee schedule for the Kent Corrections Facility Programs and fees of the Kent Police Department. RECITALS A. The Kent City Council has established a number of fees by resolution rather than by ordmance so that the fees may be adJusted by council w1thout amending the text of the Kent City Code. The City of Kent Corrections Facility Programs Fee Schedule and the Kent Pollee Department Fee Schedule prev1ously established by the City requ1re adoption. The proposed Fee Schedules were presented and considered at the August 12, 2008, Public Safety Committee meeting. B. It 1s appropriate to establish and adopt these vanous fees to more accurately reflect the true cost mcurred by the City in providing services to the public. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 1 Fees Relating to Kent Corrections Facility Programs and Kent Police Department RESOLUTION SECTION 1. -Fee Schedule and Fee Schedule Notes. The fee schedule attached and Incorporated as Exhibit A is hereby adopted and established as the fee schedule for the City of Kent Corrections Facility Programs and the City of Kent Police Department. SECTION 2. -Savings. All fees previously charged shall remain in full force and effect until the effective date of th1s resolution. SECTION 3. -Severability. If any sect1on, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, or phrase of th1s resolution is declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such deCISIOn shall not affect the val1d1ty of the remaming portions of th1s resolution. SECTION 4. -Ratification. Any act consistent with the authority and pnor to the effective date of this resolution IS hereby ratified and affirmed. SECTION 5. -Effecttve Date. This resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage. PASSED at a regular open public meeting by the City Council of the City of Kent, Washington, this ( r day of August, 2008.
