RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION of the City Council
of the City of Kent, Washington, declaring
its intention to improve a part of the City
by the construction and installation of as-
phaltic concrete surface on 72nd Avenue South,
70th Avenue South, South 216th Street and
South 220th Street in the area bounded by
South 212th Street on the north, a point ap-
proximately 340 feet north of the proposed
South 224th Street alignment on the south,
68th Avenue South (West Valley Highway) on
the west and 72nd Avenue on the east, to pro-
vide two (2) through traffic lanes, together
with curbs, gutters, storm drains and street
lighting; also by the widening and improvement
of West Valley Highway from approximately 600
feet south of South 220th Street to approxi-
mately 600 feet north of South 216th Street to-
gether with left turn channelization, street
lighting, underground power and street drain-
age; and by the construction and installation
of 10 inch water mains and 8 and 12 inch sewer
mains or stubs within the above described area;
and to create a local improvement district to
assess the cost and expense of carrying out
such improvement against the properties special-
ly benefited thereby; and notifying all persons
who desire to object to the project to appear
and present their objections at a meeting of
the City Council to be held on June 5, 1978.
BE IT RESLOVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
\lilASHINGTON, AS FOLLOvJS:
Section 1. It is the intention of the Council of the
City of Kent, Washington, to order the improvement of the property
within the City of Kent, Washington described in Exhibit A attach-
ed hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, by the con-
struction and installation of asphaltic concrete surface on 72nd
Avenue South, 70th Avenue South, South 216th Street and South
220th SLreet in the area bounded by South 212th Street on the north,
a point approximately 340 feet north of the proposed South 224th
Street alignment on the south, 68th Avenue South (West Valley High-
way) on the west and 72nd Avenue on the east, to provide two (2)
through traffic lanes, together with curbs, gutters, storm drains
and street lighting; also by the widening and improvement of West
Valley Highway from approximately 600 feet south of South 220th
Street to approximately 600 feet north of South 216th Street, to-
gether with left turn channelization, street lighting, underground

power and street drainage; and by the construction and installation
of 10 inch water mains and 8 and 12 inch sewer mains as described
in Exhibit B, attached hereto and by this reference made a part
hereof.
Section 2. The total estimated cost and expense of the
improvement is declared to be One Million, Nine Hundred Eighty One
Thousand, Three Hundred Sixteen Dollars and Thirty Three Cents
($1,981,316.33) which cost shall be borne by and assessed against
the properties specially benefited by such improvement to be in-
cluded in the local improvement district to be established embrac-
ing as near as may be all properties specially benefited by such
improvement.
Section 3. All persons who may desire to object to the
improvement herein described are hereby notified to appear and
present such objections to the Kent City Council at a regular meet-
ing of June 5, 1978 at 8 o'clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers
at the Kent City Hall.
Section 4. The Public Works Director of the City of
Kent is hereby directed to submit to the City Council on or prior
to June 5, 1978 all data and information required by law to be
submitted.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted by the City Council
of the City of Kent, Washington, and approved by the Hayor at a
regular meeting thereof
