A RESOLUTION of the c1ty council of the c1ty of
Kent, Washmgton, recogn1z1ng the Arbor Village
Neighborhood Council.
RECITALS
A. The City of Kent has developed a Neighborhood Program to promote
and sustain an environment that responds to res1dents by bu1ldmg partnerships
between the City and 1ts residents. In add1t1on, the City of Kent encourages
res1dents to work together to form geographically d1st1nct neighborhood councils
as a means to foster commumcat1on among res1dents and to enhance the1r sense
of community.
B. The City of Kent recognizes and supports neighborhood counc1ls by
endorsmg a process to establish neighborhood boundanes, approve neighborhood
councils, and prov1de neighborhood grant matchmg program opportumt1es to make
Improvements 1n defined neighborhoods.
C. The Arbor Village neighborhood, wh1ch 1s bounded to the north by
Kent-Kangley Road, to the east by 141 st Avenue SE, to the south by 275th Place
and 276th Street, and to the west by 137th Avenue to mclude 274th Place, cons1sts
of 130 housmg un1ts. On Apnl 15, 2007, the Arbor Village neighborhood
completed and turned 1n an off1c1al reg1strat1on form requesting that the City
recogn1ze the Arbor Village Neighborhood Council, allowing 1t to take advantage of
all the opportun1t1es offered by the City's Neighborhood Program, mcluding the
City's grant matching program.

NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
RESOLUTION
SECTION 1. -Recoqmtion of Neighborhood Council. -The City Counc1l for
the City of Kent hereby acknowledges the effort and comm1tment of the Arbor
Village neighborhood and all those who part1c1pated 1n formmg the Arbor Village
Neighborhood Council. The Kent City Council hereby recogn1zes Arbor Village as an
off1c1al Neighborhood Council of the City of Kent, supports Arbor Village's
commun1ty bu1ld1ng efforts, and confers on the Arbor Village Neighborhood Council
all opportun1t1es offered by the C1ty's Neighborhood Program.
SECTION 2. -Severability. If any sect1on, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause or phrase of th1s resolution 1s declared unconst1tut1onal or 1nval1d
for any reason, such dec1s1on shall not affect the val1d1ty of the remammg port1ons
of th1s resolut1on.
SECTION 3. -Ratlf1cat1on. Any act consistent w1th the authonty and pnor
to the effect1ve date of th1s resolut1on IS hereby rat1f1ed and affirmed.
SECTION 4. -Effective Date. Th1s resolution shall take effect and be 1n
force 1mmed1ately upon 1ts passage.
PASSED at a regular open public meetmg by the c1ty council of the c1ty of
Kent, Washington, th1s 11 day of June, 2007.
