A RESOLUTION of the c1ty council of the c1ty of
Kent, Washmgton, recogn1zmg the Dover Park
Neighborhood Council.
RECITALS
A. The City of Kent has developed a Neighborhood Program to promote
and sustain an environment that responds to residents by bu1ld1ng partnerships
between the City and 1ts res1dents. In add1t1on, the City of Kent encourages
res1dents to work together to form geographically d1st1nct neighborhood counc1ls
as a means to foster commun~cat1on among res1dents and to enhance the1r sense
of commun1ty.
B. The City of Kent recognizes and supports neighborhood counc1ls by
endorsing a process to establish neighborhood boundanes, approve neighborhood
counc1ls, and prov1de neighborhood grant match1ng program opportun1t1es to make
Improvements 1n def1ned neighborhoods.
C. The Dover Park neighborhood, wh1ch 1s bounded to the north by SE
260th Street, to the east by Ram1er V1ew Estates, to the south by SE 264th Street
and to the west by 124th Avenue SE , consists of 28 housmg un1ts. On March 6,
2007, the Dover Park neighborhood completed and turned 1n an off1c1al reg1strat1on
form requestmg that the City recogn1ze the Dover Park Neighborhood Council,
allowmg 1t to take advantage of all the opportun1t1es offered by the City's
Neighborhood Program, mclud1ng the City's grant matchmg program.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1 Dover Park Neighborhood Council
RESOLUTION
SECTION 1. -Recognition of Neighborhood CounCil. -The City Council for
the City of Kent hereby acknowledges the effort and commitment of the Dover Park
neighborhood and all those who part1c1pated m formmg the Dover Park
Neighborhood Council. The Kent City Counc1l hereby recogn1zes Dover Park as an
official Neighborhood Council of the City of Kent, supports Dover Park's commun1ty
bu1ldmg efforts, and confers on the Dover Park Neighborhood Council all
opportun1t1es offered by the City's Neighborhood Program.
SECTION 2. -Severability. If any sect1on, subsect1on, paragraph,
sentence, clause or phrase of th1s resolut1on 1s declared unconst1tut1onal or mval1d
for any reason, such dec1s1on shall not affect the validity of the remam1ng port1ons
of th1s resolut1on.
SECTION 3. -Ratification. Any act consistent with the authonty and pnor
to the effect1ve date of th1s resolution IS hereby rat1f1ed and affirmed.
SECTION 4. -Effective Date. Th1s resolut1on shall take effect and be m
force 1mmed1ately upon 1ts passage.
PASSED at a regular open public meeting by the c1ty council of the c1ty of
Kent, Washmgton, th1s S day of June, 2007.
