HomeMy WebLinkAbout1725Resolution No. 1725 ["Beginning August 1, 2004"] CFN = 118 -Parks and Recreation Passed -6/6/2006 lAC Resolut1on-132nd Avenue Park Development RESOLUTION NO. 17~ A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Kent, Washington, authonzmg appl1cat1on to the Interagency Comm1ttee for Outdoor Recreation (lAC) for state fundmg ass1stance for a Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program ("WWRP"), as provided 1n Ch 79A 15 RCW RECITALS A. The City of Kent has approved a comprehensive plan that includes the 132"d Avenue Neighborhood Park development project. B. Under the provisions of the WWRP, state funding assistance has been requested to a1d in f1nanc1ng the development cost of the 132"d Avenue Neighborhood Park. C. The City of Kent considers it in the best public interest to complete the development proJect descnbed 1n the application 1n order to develop the 132"d Avenue Neighborhood Park area. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: lAC Resolution- 132nd Avenue Park Development RESOLUTION SECTION 1. -Applicatton. The C1ty's director of Parks, Recreation, and Commun1ty Serv1ces 1s authonzed to make formal application to lAC for fund1ng assistance SECTION 2. -Use of Funds Any funding assistance received will be used for the 1mplementat1on of the project referenced above, wh1ch 1s the development of the 132nd Avenue Neighborhood Park area. SECTION 3. -Non-cash Commitments The City of Kent acknowledges that it is responsible for supporting all non-cash comm1tments to the sponsor share should they not matenalize SECTION 4. -Use Retained in Perpetuity The City of Kent acknowledges that any property acqwred or facility developed w1th lAC f1nanc1al a1d must be placed 1n use as an outdoor recreation facility and be retained m such use m perpetuity unless otherwise prov1ded and agreed to by the C1ty of Kent and lAC SECTION 5. -Resolution -Part of Appltcation. This resolution may become part of a formal application to lAC. SECTION 6. -Public Comment The City of Kent provided opportunity for public comment on this application at a Parks Committee public meet1ng on February 16, 2006. SECTION 7. -Severability If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this resolut1on is declared unconstitutional or 1nvalid for any reason, such dec1s1on shall not affect the validity of the remammg port1ons of th1s resolu!Jon 2 lAC Resolution- 13zr<i Avenue Park Development SECTION B. -Ratiftcation Any act consistent with the authority and prior to the effective date of this resolut1on 1s hereby ratlf1ed and aff1rmed SECTION 9. -EffectiVe Date.
