A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Kent, Washmgton, authorizing application to the
Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation (lAC) for
funding asststance for a Youth Athletic Facthties Program
(Y AF) project as provided in Chapter 79A.25 RCW.
WHEREAS, the City of Kent has approved a comprehensive plan that
includes the Kent Memorial Park area; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Y AF, state funding assistance ts
requested to aid m financing the cost of facility maintenance; and
WHEREAS, the City of Kent constders tt m the best public mterest to
complete the mamtenance project described in the apphcatton; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Director of Parks, Recreation, and Commumty Services is authonzed
to make formal application to lAC for fundmg assistance.
2. Any fund asststance received will be used for the Implementation of the
project referenced above and described in the apphcat10n.

3. The City ofKent certifies that its share of project funding is committed and
will be derived from Real Estate Excise Tax Capital Funds.
4. The City ofKent acknowledges that it is responsible for supporting all non-
cash commitments to the sponsor share should they not matenahze;
5. The City of Kent acknowledges that any facihty developed with lAC
fmancial aid must be placed in use as an outdoor recreation facihty and be
retained in such use for a mmimum of twenty (20) years from final
reimbursement, unless otherwise provided and agreed to by the City of Kent
and lAC.
6. This resolution becomes part of the City's formal application to lAC.
7. The City of Kent provided appropriate opportunity for pubhc comment on
this application at the Operations Committee meetmg on November 4,
2003.

Kent, Washington, this II day ofNovember, 2003.
