A RESOLUTION of the city council of the city of
Kent, Washmgton, authonzmg apphcatwn to the
Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation (IAC) for
federal fundmg assistance for a W1ldhfe and RecreatiOn
Program (WWRP) as provided m Chapter 79A 15 RCW,
AcquiSitiOn of Outdoor Recreation Lands
WHEREAS, the city of Kent has approved a comprehensive plan that
mcludes the East Hill X Park area; and
WHEREAS, under the provisiOns of WWRP, state fundmg assistance IS
requested to aJd m financmg the cost ofland acqUisition and/or facihty development, and
WHEREAS, the city of Kent considers It m the best pubhc mterest to
complete the land acqmsit!On proJect descnbed m the apphcatwn, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS·
I The Director of Parks, Recreation, and Commumty Services IS authorized to
make formal apphcatwn to IAC for fundmg assistance
1 lAC Resolution-
East Hill X Park Acquisition
2 Any fund assistance rece1ved w1ll be used for the 1mplementatwn of the
proJect referenced above
3 The c1ty of Kent certifies that 1ts share of proJect fundmg 1s committed and
will be denved from Youth/Teen Cap1tal Funds and bargam sale.
4 The c1ty of Kent acknowledges that 1t IS responsible for supportmg all non-
cash commitments to the sponsor share should they not matenalize;
5 The c1ty of Kent acknowledges that any property acqmred or facility
developed With IAC financial a1d must be placed muse as an outdoor recreatiOn facility and
be retamed m such use m perpetmty unless otherwise provided and agreed to by the c1ty of
Kent andiAC
6 Th1s resolutwn becomes part of a formal applicatwn to lAC
7 The c1ty of Kent prov1ded appropnate opportunity for public comment on
this apphcatwn at the Parks Committee meetmg on March 11, 2003
