A RESOLUTION of the Clty Council of the City of
Kent, Washmgton, authonzmg apphcatwn to the
Interagency Comrmttee for Outdoor RecreatiOn (lAC) for
fundmg assistance pursuant to the Washmgton Wildlife and
Recreatwn Program as provided form Chs 79A 10 and
79A 15RCW
WHEREAS, the City of Kent has approved a Comprehensive Park and
Recreatwn Plan for the area that mcludes the East Hill Extreme Park Acqwsition and
Development, and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Washmgton Wildlife and
Recreation Program and the Land and Water ConservatiOn Program, state and federal
fundmg asSlstance has been requested to a1d m financmg the cost ofland and fac1hhes for
local pubhc bodies, and
WHEREAS, the C1ty of Kent cons1ders 1t m the best pubhc mterest to
acqwre an East Hill Extreme Park, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS·

Extreme Park Acquisztwn
1 The Director of Parks, RecreatiOn & Connnumty Services IS authonzed to make
formal applicatiOn to lAC for fundmg assistance
2 Any fund assistance received Will be used for the acquiSitiOn of East Hill Extreme
Park property and development
3 The City of Kent anlic1pates that Its share of proJect fundmg will be denved from
Capital hnprovement Program (Youth/Ten Utility) funds
4 The C1ty of Kent acknowledges It must support all non-cash connnilinents to the
local share should they not matenalize
5 The C1ty of Kent acknowledges that any property acqmred or facility developed
with lAC fmancial md must be placed muse as an outdoor recreatiOn facility and
be retamed m such use m perpetUity unless otherWise provided and agreed to by the
City of Kent, lAC, and any affected federal agency
6 This resolutiOn may become part of a formal applicatiOn to lAC
7 The C1ty of Kent will provide appropnate opportumty for public connnent on th1s
applicatiOn
