A RESOLUTION of the C1ty Council of the C1ty of
Kent, Washmgton, authonzmg apphca!Jon to the
Interagency Conmuttee for Outdoor RecreatiOn (lAC) for
fundmg assistance pursuant to the Washmgton W!ldhfe and
RecreatiOn Program as provided form Chs. 79A 10 and
79A 15 RCW
WHEREAS, the City of Kent has approved a Comprehensive Park and
Recreatwn Plan for the area that mcludes Clark Lake Park, and
WHEREAS, under the proviSIOns of the Washmgton W1ldhfe and
RecreatiOn Program, state and federal fundmg assistance has been requested to md m
financmg the cost ofland and facJhtJes for local pubhc bod1es, and
WHEREAS, the C1ty of Kent considers 1t m the best pubhc mterest to
acqmre the Clark Lake Park area, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS
1 The D1rector of Parks, Recreatwn, and Commumty Serv1ces IS authonzed to make
formal apphcatwn to lAC for fundmg assistance

2 Any fund ass1stance rece!Ved wlil be used for the acqms1t1on of Clark Lake Park
property
3 The C1ty of Kent ant1c1pates that 1ts share of proJect fundmg w11l be denved from
local grant fundmg or from Cap1tal Improvement Program funds.
4 The C1ty of Kent acknowledges 1t must support all non-cash comm1tments to the
local share should they not matenahze
5 The C1ty of Kent acknowledges that any property acqmred or fac1hty developed
w1th lAC financ1al atd must be placed muse as an outdoor recreatwn fac1hty and
be retamed m such use m perpetmty mliess otherw1se prov1ded and agreed to by the
C1ty of Kent, lAC, and any affected federal agency
6 Th1s resolution may become part of a formal apphcahon to lAC
7 The C1ty of Kent w11l prov1de appropnate opportumty for pubhc comment on t1ns
apphcatwn
