A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Kent, Waslnngton, authonzmg apphcatwn to the
Interagency Comrmttee for Outdoor Recreatwn (lAC) for
fundmg assistance pursuant to theW ashmgton Wildlife and
Recreahon Program as provided for m Chs 79A 10 and
79A 15 RCW
WHEREAS, the City of Kent has approved a Comprehensive Park and
Recreatwn Plan for the need for an Off Leash Dog Area, and
WHEREAS, the City of Kent, m coordmatwn with other South Kmg
County cihes and Kmg County on the Off-Leash Task Force, IS workmg to site and develop
a regwnal Off-Leash Dog Area, and
WHEREAS, under the proviswns of the Washmgton Wildhfe and
Recreatwn Program and the Land and Water Conservahon Program, state and federal
fundmg assistance has been requested to aid m fmancmg the cost of land and facihtles for
local pubhc bodies, and
WHEREAS, the City of Kent considers It m the best pubhc mterest to
develop existmg park property for a regwnal Off Leash Dog Park, NOW, THEREFORE,

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS
1 The Director of Parks, RecreatiOn & Commumty Services IS authonzed to make
formal apphcatwn to lAC for fundmg assistance
2 Any fund assistance received Will be used for the development of property for the
regwnal Off Leash Dog Park
3 The C1ty of Kent anticipates that 1ts share of proJect fundmg will be denved from
Cap1tal Improvement Program funds
4 The C1ty of Kent acknowledges 1t must support all non-cash commitments to the
local share should they not matenahze
5 The C1ty of Kent acknowledges that any property acqmred or fac1hty developed
w1th lAC financial md must be placed muse as an outdoor recreatwn fac1hty and
be retamed m such use m perpetmty unless otherwise proVided and agreed to by the
City of Kent, lAC, and any affected federal agency
6 Th1s resolutwn may become part of a formal apphcatwn to lAC
7 The C1ty of Kent will provide appropnate opportumty for public comment on tlus
apphcalion
