HomeMy WebLinkAbout3081 2 1 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 F~SOLUTION NO. )08 WHEREAS, there have heretofore been filed, formal petitions requesting a public hearing tor decontrol of rental restrictions within the City of lent, Washington, under and by virtue of the provisions of the Federal Housing and Rental Act of 1947, as amended, and particularly Public Law No. 31 of the 8lst Congress of the United States, and WHEREAS, the City Council did, on November 21, 1949, call a public hearing as provided in said Act to be held after due notice in the manner prescribed in Public Law No. 31, and WHEREAS, at said hearing evidence was propounded by all interested groups and parties, and the City Council having considered all the evidence brought before it, and having considered the purpose and intent of the Congress of the United States, as expressed in said Public Law No. 31 of the 8lst Congress, and believing, as a result of said hearing and such study and consideration, that there no longer exists in the City of Kent, Washington, such a shortage in rental housing accommodations as to require Federal rent control in the City of Kent, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, IN REGULAR MEETING ASSEMBLED: Section 1. That there no longer exists in the City of Kent, Washington, such a shortage in rental housing accommod- ations as to require Federal rent control in the said City, a~d that und.er the provisions of Public Law No. 31 of the Blat Congress of the United States, such Federal rent control should be removed. Section 2.
