Resolution No. 29S.
WHEREAS, a hearing on the proposal to form a public .. ;,.
utility district in King County to include the area outside ,;.. / ·
of the Seattle Metropolitan area has been fixed for 10:00 a .. ~... /
on Monday, September 27 1 1948, before the Board of King Cou)aty · ./
Commissioners in Room No~ 402, County-City Bldg., Seattle;
and
WHEREAS, said district, if formed, would have the power
of condemnation of properties of Puget Sound Power & Light
Company within the City and adjacent area without a vote of
the people; and
WHEREAS, the Company now renders adequate service in the
City at rates which have declined over the years, rather than
increased, as have the prices for all other commodities used by
our citizens, and it is the conviction of the members of the
City Council and the City Officials that said proposal is
inimical to the welfare of the City and of its Citizens;
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED, That the City and the City
Officials do hereby register disapproval of said proposal for
the formation of a public utility district in King County and,
in the event such a public utility district is to be formed,
the City respectfully petitions the Board of County Commis-
siomers of King County to exclude the City from the boundries
of the propoeed district.
