HomeMy WebLinkAbout3711 2 6 6 ., e 9 10 11 12 13 1(. 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 250 371 RESOLUTION NO. 11!1 WHEREAS, the o.f'.f'icials of' the City of Kent feel there is a def'il'tite need for more reTenue for many of the cities and towns of the State of Washington and WHEREAS, the of.ficials or the City o:r Kent feel that cities and towns should have more local control to leYy taxes to satisfy the needs of their ci.tizens, and WHEREAS, permissive authority for cities and towns to levy a small sales .tax is an excellent method for broadening the tax base to satisfy these needs and obtain the needed revenue, lOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kent: That the City of Kent favors a permissive sales tax limited to two thirds of one per cent, and hereoy urges our legislative representatives to en.aet such a law.
