, WHEREAS, the Mayor of Kent has brought to our attention

reports of unlawful gambling in South King County, \VHEREAS,
·that these conditions if confirmed to exist, constitutes

! conditions deterimental to the public welfare;

BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be instructed to mail
1 a copy of this resolution accompanied by the minutes of
this meeting, to County Sheriff Harlan s. Callahan,
Prosecuting Attorney Charles 0. Carroll, Mayor of Seattle
Allan Pomeroy, Chief of Police James Lawrence, advising them
of this problem and asking their investigations, cooperation,
in closing establishments if such conditions exist, and
continued enforcement of the closure, if any further
reacurrances of gambling takes placeo
Passed by the City Council this 14th. day of April, 1954.
