WHEREAS there
Legislature of the State of Washington and act ," that any
city that so elects to operate its own power buisness, may
doso in the fringe area, and give it equal powers of the PUD
operations".
WIERIIS it is the considered conclusion of the City Council
of the City or Kent that the passage of said act is very
necessary for the proper operation and function or a City
owned Light Company. and
WHEREAS the people of Kent, also Renton & Enumclaw voted the
Mayor and Council the power to inter in and operate a power
company last October, and
WHEREAS at the November election the people voted down the
operation of a PUD in King Countyo
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF KENT:
That the present Legislature of the State of Washington is
respectfully ur&ed to enact said act relating to given the
Cities equal ri&hts with the PUD in rural areas.
Adopted this 5th day of February, 1951, by the City Council
of the City or Kent in regular meeting assembled.
