RESOLUTION NO. h Jb
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON
IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
I
The City Council of the City of Kent, Washington herewith
declares the intention of the City of Kent to adopt for the City of
Kent the classification of Non-Charter Code City pursuant to the
provisions of RCW Title 35A of the Laws of the State of Washington.

, Upon becoming classified as a Non-Charter Code City the

;··.''l.J.:ttyy of Kent shall retain the plan of government under which the
of Kent is presently operating.

Within ten (10) days affer the passage of this
esolution, it shall be published at least once in a newspaper of
eneral circulation within the City of Kent, Washington.
I IV
i Upon the expiration of the ninetieth day from but I -
¢xcluding the date of first publication of the Resolution the
intent expressed in this resolution shall be effected by an
1rdinance adopting for the City of Kent, Washington the classifica-
tion of a Non-Charter Code City.

ll Upon the passage of the Ordinance referred to in
~ection IV above in this Resolution the City Clerk of the City of
$ent, Washington shallforward to the Secretary of State of the
$tate of Washington a certified copy of such Ordinance. Upon the
filing in the office of the Secretary of State of the State of
ashington of the certified copy of said Ordinance adopting the
I
'lassification of Non-Charter Code City the City of Kent, Wash-
ngton shall thereafter be classified as a Non-Charter Code City
nd shall thereafter be entitled to benefits contained in Title 35A
~f the Revised Code of Washington (the Optional Municipal Code).
