HomeMy WebLinkAbout6381 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 RESOLUTION NO • ./..,/3 Ef WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interests of the health and welfare of the Citizens of the City of Kent to acquire a portion of real property as here';inafter described, for the purpose of widening South 248th Street, located at Kent, King County, Wash- ington, from the United States Government; and WHEREAS, the United States GoVefnment may give consideration to such an acquisition under the_provisions of Statute 40 USC 345c, 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 which allows the United States to convey property for widening of public street without monetary consideration, but which provides an administrative fee of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00); and WHEREAS, the City of Kent, being a Municipality of the Third Class of the State of Washington, is authorized to acquire real property for the purposes of establishing and widening public streets pursuant to RCW 35.24.310 of the Laws of the State of Washington; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Administrator of the City of Kent is hereby authorized and directed to offer to acquire from the United States Government the following described real property for the purpose of widening South 248th Street, and to offer to pay to the United States Government the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), as a charge for the United States Government's adminis- trative costs in processing such request. Section 2. In the event any portion of an existing Govern- ment owned fence is on the real property hereinafter described, the City will upon conveyance thereof to it by the United States Gov- erment, relocate said fence at no expense to the United States Government and shall make such relocation of said fence to the satisfaction of theUnited States Government • .'··), .. · .. The real property referred to in this Ordinance is located in the County of King, State of Washington, and more fully described as follows: Tract A-120 (Portion): 0.43 acre fee owned land more part1cularly described as: That portion of the south half of the southeast quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 22, Township 22 North, Range 4 East of the Willamette Meridian, King County, Washington, said portion being the south 30.00 feet of said subdivision, said strip being all that area east of the east right-of-way line of the Old Military Road and west of a line described as follows: Commencing in the north line of said subdivision at the said east right-of-way line, said point being 242.83 feet east on said north line from the northwest corner of said subdivision; thence east in said north line 488.39 feet; thence leaving said line south 07°55' east 220.73 feet; thence south 74°37' east 238.88 feet; thence south 06°53' east 396.06 feet, more or less, to the south line of said subdivis:bn.
