A RESOLUTION OF THE City of Kent, Washing-
ton, authorizing application for funding
assistance for an outdoor recreation project
to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation, as provided by the Marine Recrea-
tion Land Act and the $10,000,000.00 Outdoor
Recreation Bond Issue of 1964.
WHEREAS, the City Counci I of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, has approved a "Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan"
for the urban area, which identifies a community park at Lake
Fenwick in the City of Kent, Washington, as top priority; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Marine Rec-
reation Land Act and the $10,000,000.00 Outdoor Recreation Bond
Issue of 1964, State and Federal funding assistance has been
authorized and made avai I able to aid in financing the cost of
land for parks and the construction of outdoor recreation
faci I ities of local public bodies; and
WHEREAS, the City Counci I of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, considers it in the best public interest to acquire a
community park at Lake Fenwick within the City of Kent, Wash-
20 ington, generally located on west hi I I area of Kent, in Section

27, Township 22, Range 4 E.W.M., King County, Washington,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Kent, Washington:
(1) That the Mayor be authorized to make formal
application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation
for fund assistance;
(2) That any fund assistance so received be used in
29 the acquisition of thirty four (34) acres of land at Lake
30 Fenwick within the City of Kent, Washington;

(3) That any property acquired with financial aid
through the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation be

placed in use as an outdoor recreation facility and be retained
in such use in perpetuity unless as otherwise provided and
agreed to by the City Council, the Interagency Committee for
Outdoor Recreation, and any affected federal agency, and
(4) That this Resolution become part of a formal
application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation~
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Kent,
Washington, at its regular meeting held September 3, 1968.
Signed and approved by the Mayor and City Clerk of
the City of Kent, Washington, this 3rd day of September, 1968.
