RESOLUTION NO . ...::::::.:L/<....::> A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Kent, Washington, declaring its in- tention to construct and install a system of water mains to serve a portion of the East Valley area within the City of Kent and to create a local improvement district to assess a part of the cost and expense of carrying out such improvement against the property specially benefited thereby; and notifying all persons who desire to ob- ject to the project to appear and present their objections at a meeting of the City Council to be held on September 3, 1968. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, as follows: Section 1. It is the intention of the Council of the City of Kent, Washington, to order the improvement of the following described property within the City of Kent, Washington: Beginning at the Southeast corner of Section 36, Township 23 North, Range 4 East, W.M., thence Westerly along the South line of said Section 36, 1100.35 feet; thence North 01°47'46" East 186.32 feet; thence South 88°09'48" East 214.68 feet to the West line of the s 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of said Section 36; thence North along said West line of the s 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 to the North line thereof; thence East along said North line of the S 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 to its intersection with the centerline of 80th Place South; thence Northerly along said centerline of 80th Place South to the Westerly extension of the South margin of South 180th Street (Carr Road) ; thence Easterly along said South margin of South 180th Street to the East line of said Section 36-23-4 which is also the West line of Section 31-23-5; thence continuing Easterly along the South margin of said South 180th Street to its intersection with the Westerly margin of the East Valley Highway; thence Southerly along said Westerly margin of the East Valley Highway to its intersection with the Westerly extension of the South margin of South 192nd Street; thence Easterly along said South margin of South 192nd Street to its inter- section with the South line of said Section 31-23-5; thence Westerly along said South line of Section 31 to the Southwest corner thereof, which is also the Southeast corner of Section 36-23-4 and the point of beginning; by the construction and installation of the following described water mains at the following locations: Size 16 11 10 11 10 II On 84th Ave. So. (East Valley Highway) East Valley Highway So. 180th Street From South line Sec. 31-23-5 E-W Centerline Sec. 31 East Valley Highway Easements 16 11 12 11 Sly. Extension of 88th Ave. So. E-W Centerline Sec. 31-23-5 and 36-23-4 So. 180th St. East line SW 1/4 of NW 1/4 Sec. 31-23-5 To E-W Centerline Section 31 So. 180th Street 88th Ave. So. East Valley Highway 80th Ave. So. The above described mains shall be installed together with valves, fittings, fire hydrants and appurtenances. All of the foregoing shall be in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by Hill, Ingman, Chase & Co., consulting engineers to the City. Section 2. The total estimated cost and expense of said improvement is declared to be $210,000.00. Not to exceed $100,000.00 of the cost and expense of said improvement shall be borne by and assessed against the property specially benefited by such improvement to be included in a local improvement district to be established em- bracing as near as may be all property specially benefited by such improvement. The balance of the cost and expense of the improvement, estimated to be $110,000.00, shall be paid from City funds available for such purpose. Section 3. All persons who may desire to object to the im- provement herein described are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at a meeting of the City Council to be held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Kent, Washington, at 8:00 o'clock p.m. (PDST), on September 3, 1968, which time and place are hereby fixed for hearing all matters relating to the proposed improvement, and all objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for that improvement. - 2 - Section 4. Hill, Ingman, Chase & Co., consulting engineers, are hereby directed to submit to the City Council on or prior to the 3rd day of September, 1968, all data and information required by law to be submitted. The foregoing resolution was ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Kent, Washington, at a regular meeting thereof this 5th day of August, 1968.
