HomeMy WebLinkAbout5351 2 3 4 5 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION NO. ~-.) ~- A l~ESOLUTION authorizing acceptance of United States of America Federal grant funds for sewage treatment works for construction of North Kent sewage facilities consisting of sewage treatment plant and outfall and South Kent intercepting sewage facilities consisting of pumping station and force main, and authorizing the signing of all necessary documents in connection with said grant. WHEREAS, the City of Kent, after thorough consideration of the various aspects of the problems and study of available data, has hereby determined that construction of certain public works generally described as construction of North Kent sewage facilities consisting of sewage treatment plant and outfall and South Kent intercepting sewage facilities consisting of pumping station and force main is desirable and in the public interest and to that end it lS necessary that action toward the construe- tion of said works be taken immediately, and WHEREAS, under the terms of 33 u.s.c. 466, et seq., of the laws of the United States of America, the Department of Health Education and Welfare of the United States of America has advised the City of Kent that it is necessary for the City of Kent to authorize the Mayor to accept said grant offer from the United States of America and to sign all other documents necessary to the prosecution of said project; NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of ~nt, Washington, the governing bodyof said applicant as follows: 1. That the construction of said public works is essential to and is in the best interests of the applicant and to the end that such public works may be provided as promptly as practicable, it is desirable that action toward the con- struction thereof be undertaken immediately; 2. That the Hayor of the City of Kent, Washington, be and he is hereby authorized to file on behalf of the appli- cant an acceptance and all other documents necessary to the prosecution of said projects (in form required by the United -1- 'I jl 1 States of America and 1n conformity with said Act) for grant 2 offer funds under the provisions of 33 u.s.c. 466, et seq., of 3 the laws of the United States of America, to be made by the 4 United States to the City of Kent, Washington, to aid in de- 5 fraying the costs of prosecuting said public works project which a shall consist generally of construction of North Kent sewage 7 facilities consisting of sewage treatment plant and outfall and 8 South Kent intercepting sewage facilities consisting of pumping 9 station and force main in the City of Kent, County of King, 10 State of Washington; 11 3. That certified copies of this Resolution be in- 12 eluded as part of the acceptance of said grant offer to be 13 submitted to the United States; 14 4. A copy of this Resolution shall be filed with the 15 Kent City Clerk. 16 PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT at a 17 regular meeting duly assembled the ~day of January, 1965. a-:::~:~J.
