WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kent, upon rec-
commendation of the City's Park Board, and after study and consul-
tation, has ascertained that it is in the interests of the citizens
of the City of Kent, and is for a proper municipal purpo.se, to
purchase the following described real property from the following
described p~rties for the purpose of establishing a municipal park
site, and
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the Kent City Council on
May 20, 1963 it was duly moved, seconded and approved that the
sum of $100.00 earnest money be paid toward the purchase of said
real property, said sum having been paid, and
WHEREAS, by negotiation, the owners of said real property
have offered to sell it to the City for the sum of $5,500.00 cash,
with the City to bear all costs of said transaction, now therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Kent in
regular meeting assembled that the Mayor and the City Clerk of
the City of Kent be authorized and directed, and they are hereby
authorized and directed to purchase the following described real
property, located in the City of Kent, County of King, State of
Washington, and more fully described as:
Lots l and 2, Block 4, North Park Addition to the
City of Kent, according to plat recorded in Volume
1$ of Plats, page 10, in King County, Washington,
and vacated portion of Second Street and Cloudy
Avenue abutting, more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 2,
Block 4, said North Park Addition; thence
northerly along the west line of Second
Street, extended, 40 feet to the south
line of Cloudy Avenue extended; thence
westerly along said south line 27 feet
to the northeast corner of said Lot l;
thence southeasterly 4$.26 feet to the
point of beginningo
from JOHN Lo WINGERT and THELMA WINGERT, his wife for the nego-
tiated, fair and proper s~m of $5 1 500.00, the City of Kent to
bear all costs of said transaction, provided that the City Attorney
shall first purchase title insurance and thereafter give his opinion
that said sellers have clear title to said real property, and be it
further
RESOLVED, that on consumation of said purchase of said
real property, and upon receipt of a proper warranty deed there-
fore the City Clerk shall cause said deed to be filed in the
office of the Auditor for King County, Washington, and pay the
filing fee therefore.
