RESOLUTION NO. lf 9£.,
A RESOLUTION authorizing acceptance of
United States of America, Surgeon General's
grant offer for sewage treatment plant en-
largements in the City of Kent and author-
izing the signature of all documents nec-
essary for the prosecution of said project.
5 ~mEREAS, the City of Kent after thorough con-
e sideration of the various aspects of the problem and
7 study of available data, has hereby determined that
8 construction of certain public works gererally describ-
9 ed as additions to sanitary sewage system and improve-
10 ments to sewage disposal facilities is desirable and
11 in the public interest and to that end it is nee-
12 essary that action toward the construction of said
13 works be taken immediately, and

\.JHEREAS, under the terms of public law 84-660,
83rd Congress, as amended, the United States of America,
Surgeon General's office has advised the City of Kent
that it is necessary for the City of Kent to authorize
the Mayor to accept said grant offer from the United
States of America and to sign all other documents nee-
essary to the prosecution of said project; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Kent, \.Vashington, the governing body of said applicant,
as follows:
1. That the construction of said public works
is essential to and is to the best interests of the
applicant and to the end that such public works may be
provided as promptly as practicable, it is desirable
that action toward the construction thereof be under-
1 taken immediately;

2. That the Mayor of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, be and he is hereby authorized to file on be-
half of the applicant an acceptance and all other docu-
ments necessary to the prosecution of said projects (in
form required by the United States and in conformity with
said act) for grant offer funds under public law 84-660,
to be made by the United States to the City of Kent to
aid in defraying the cost of prosecuting said public
works' projects which shall consist generally of addi-
tions to sanitary sewage systems and improvements to
sewage disposal facilities in the City of Kent, County
of King, State of Washington.
3. That certified copies of this Resolution be
16 included as part of the acceptance of said grant offer
17 to be submitted to the United States.

and it is
RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution shall
be filed with the City Clerk, passed by the City
Council in a regular meeting assembled the lst day of
July, 19 6 3.
