AMENDMENT OF RESOLUTION NO. 486 PER-
TAINING TO AGREEMENT FOR THE FORMATION
OF A REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the undersigned, the Mayors of the
Cities of Auburn, Kent, Renton and Tukwila, and the
undersigned Commissioners of the County of King, have
previously entered into a joint agreement for the forma-
tion of a Regional Planning Council as provided by RCW
35.63.070, and RCW 35.63.060 for the uses and purposes
set forth in those statutes, and
WHEREAS, the City of Kent resolved to enter
into such a Regional Planning Council in Resolution No.
486 on the t.~--.4, day of _ ___,~&.._e._._B .. · -----' 1963, and
WHEREAS, said Cities and County now recognize
and desire the advantages of amending that article of
said agreement for the formation of a Regional Planning
Council which pertains to the membership of Commission;
Term; Vacancies; Chairman and Secretary; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED: That Article III, pertaining to
membership of Commission; Term; Vacancies; Chairman and
Secretary of Resolution No. 486 of the City of Kent,
County of King, State of Washington, which reads as
follows:
"The Regional Planning Council shall con-
sist of ten members. Two shall be appointed
by each of the Mayors of Tukwila, Renton, Kent
and Auburn, and two by the Board of County
Commissioners of the County. Each appointee
shall serve for a term of one year, provided
that one of the initial appointees from each
municipality shall be designated at the time
of appointment to serve for two years.
Any vacancy shall be filled by appoint-
ment in the same manner for the unexpired term.
The members shall annually elect a chair-
man and secretary from among their number."
shall be and hereby is amended to read as follows:
ARTICEE III. Membership of Commission; Term;
Vacancies; Chairman and Secretary:
The Regional Planning Commission shall
consist of thirty members. Six shall be appoint-
ed by each of the Mayors of Tukwila, Renton,
Kent and Auburn, and six by the Board of County
Commi-ssioners of the County. Each appointee
shall serve for a term of one year, provided that
one of the initial appointees from each munici-
pality shall be designated at the time of appoint-
ment to serve for two years.
Any vacancies shall be filled by appoint-
ment in the same manner for the unexpired term.
The members shall annually elect a Chair-
man and Secretary from among their humber.
In ratification of the form and purposes of
the Duwarnish Valley Regional Planning Commission, the
foregoing amendment to Article III of the City of Kent,
Resolution No. 486 is adopted the day and year shown.
