HomeMy WebLinkAbout4791 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION No. 't79 WHEREAS, there was filed with the City Clerk of the City of Kent at 9:00A.M., on the 4th day of September, 1962, a petition signed by the owners of not less than 10)6 in value according to the assessed valuation for general taxation of certain properties therein described, notifying the City of the intention of said petitioners to seek annexation of said property to the City; and WHEREAS, pursuant to said petitiOn~ and to law, the City Coun il did on the 4th day of September, 1962, set the 17th day of September, 1962, at the hour of 7:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall in Kent, Washington, as the time and place for a meeting of said petitioners with the City Council to discuss said proposal for annexation; and VfHEREAS, notice thereof was given by the City to said petitioners by United States mail, postage prepaid; and WHEREAS, at said date, time and place a meeting was held, those present being the Mayor of the City and a majority of the City Council representing the City, and representatives of the petitioners; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kent aas fully considered the proposal of said petitioners, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kent in regular meeting assembled: 1. That the annexation proposed by the initiating petition of Dale W. Snow and others, filed with the City Clerk on the 4th day of September, 1962, at S;:OO o'clock A.M., will be entertained by the City of Kent; that the City will require the assumption of existing general bonded indebtedness of the City by the area proposed to be annexed. 2. Be it further resolved that the City Clerk is authorized and directed to notify said petitioners in writing by United States mail, postage prepaid, of the action of the Council upon 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 2·5 26 27 28 29 30 31 their petition. 3. That the final petition for annexation of said property circulated by the petitioners and to be filed with the City of Kent shall state therein the provisions of this resolution relating to the assumption of general bonded indebtedness by the property in the area proposed to be annexed.
