A RESOLUTION of the City of Kent,
Washington, t~mporarily reducing the speed
limit on 84th Avenue South from South 212th
to South 192nd Streets from 40 miles per
hour to 25 miles per hour.
WHEREAS, 84th Avenue South from South 212th to
South 192nd Street is currently being improved and widened,
and
WHEREAS, the current speed limit of 40 miles per
hour has, in the judgment of the Traffic Engineer, proven to
be excessive given the present condition of the roadway, and
the intensity of contruction activity, and
WHEREAS the Traffic Engineer has determined that a
safe and reasonable speed for vehicles until the completion of
the improvements would be 25 miles per hour, NOW, THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON,
DO HEREBY RESOLVE:
Section 1. That the speed limit for motor vehicles
on 84th Avenue South from South 212th to South 192nd Street be
and the same hereby is temporarily reduced from 40 miles per
hour to 25 miles per hour.
Section 2. That the speed limit of 25 miles per
hour shall remain in effect during the improvement of 84th
Avenue South and until the Traffic Engineer determines that the
40 mile per hour limit may be restored at which time said limit
may be restored without any further action by the City Council.
PASSED at a regular meeting of the Kent City Council
this 19th day of November, 1979.
