RESOLUTION NO. ['-f0
A RESOLUTION of the City of Kent,
Washington, amending the City's 1978 -1983
revision of the City of Kent's Six Year Com-
prehensive Street Program and Arterial Street
Construction Program.
WHEREAS the City of Kent, in accordance with RCW 35.77.
010 previously adopted the 1978 -1983 revision of the City of
Kent's Six Year Comprehensive Street Program and Arterial Street
Construction Program, said revision being adopted by Resolution
827, passed at a regular City Council meeting June 20, 1977, and
WHEREAS said revision listed the improvement of South
180th Street from East Valley Highway to West Valley Highway as
Item 20 under "Other Projects", with a contemplated expenditure of
Five Million (5,000,000) Dollars during the 1981-83 biennium, and
WHEREAS the City has since been advised that outside
funding is available for the South 180th Street project, provided
the project be moved up from the 1981-1983 biennium to the current
year, and
WHEREAS public hearings were held by the City Council
on March 20, 1978 after due and proper notice thereof to consider
amending the 1978-1983 program to accelerate the South 180th Street
project, and
WHEREAS it was determined after said public hearing that
said acceleration should be accomplished, NOW, THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
HEREBY RESOLVE:
Section 1. The 1978-1983 revision of the City of Kent's
Six Year Comprehensive Street Program and Arterial Street Construc-
tion Program be and the same hereby is amended as follows:
a) The South 180th Street East Valley High-
way to West Valley Highway project shall
be accelerated and placed into the 1978
year and the estimated cost shall be in-
dicated as Four Million Four Hundred Thou-
sand (4,400,000) Dollars.
Section 2. The Director of Public Works be and he here-
by is authorized and directed to transmit to the Director of the
State Department of Highways a copy of this Resolution and the ap-
propriate plans.
PASSED at a regular meeting of the Kent City Council
this 3rd day of April,
