A RESOLUTION of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, opposing Initiative 348 and urging citizens
to vote no on Initiative 348 on November 8, 1977.
WHEREAS, the variable gas tax enacted by the Washington
State Legislature is essential for the maintenance and improvement of
streets, highways and the ferry system, and
WHEREAS, the City of Kent has high priority improvement
projects in Category A, and Category C and eligible projects for
Urban Arterial Board funding, and
WHEREAS, the City of Kent is a member of the METRO
Transit System which is very dependent on Washington Department of
Transportation funds,
NOW, THEREFORE, The Kent City Council opposes Initiative
348, and urges all citizens to vote no on Initiative 348 on November 8,
1977.
Passed at a regular meeting of the Kent City Council this
3rd day of October 1977.
