A RESOLUTION of the City Council
of the City of Kent, Washington, approving
a joint Comprehensive Solid Waste Management
Plan and authorizing an interlocal agreement
with King County
WHEREAS, the City of Kent has completed all steps re-
quired by law as conditions precedent to the adoption of a joint
Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan as set forth in RCW 70.
95 and Resolution No. 707 of the City of Kent adopted October 18,
1971; and
WHEREAS, said plan will result in a cooperative, co-
ordinated comprehensive solid waste management plan for the dis-
posal of all solid waste generated within all municipalities and
political subdivisions within the boundaries of King County; and
WHEREAS, the City Council considered said joint Com~
prehensive Solid Waste Management Plan at a Public hearing on
November 1, 1976; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
HEREBY RESOLVE:
Section 1. That the City Council hereby approve the
joint Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan for all jurisdic-
tions within King County, a copy of which is filed with the City
Clerk and by this reference made a part hereof, as a plan for the
adoption of a comprehensive county wide solid waste handling pro-
gram which will prevent land, air and water polution and conserve
the natural and economic resources of this area.
Section 2. The City Administrator is hereby authorized
to develop for review by the City Council an interlocal agreement
to provide for the disposal of solid waste collected in the City
of Kent.
PASSED at a regular session of the Kent City Council
and approved by the Mayor this lj-rst day of November, 1976.
