A RESOLUTION of the City Council of
the City of Kent, Washington, approving
the sale of property owned by the City
at Icy Creek and authorizing the Mayor
to sign necessary transfer documents.
WHEREAS, the City has for several years been at-
tempting to sell certain real property located at Icy Creek
and described as follows:
The north 1/2 of Government Lot 3, Section
30, Township 21 North,Range 7 E.W.M. in King
County Washington. EXCEPT that portion there-
of for Enumclaw-Franklin Road. AND EXCEPT all
coal and minerals and the right to explore for
and mine the same as excluded in deed recorded
under Auditor's File No. 3137364.
WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Fish-
eries has made a firm offer to the City to purchase the prop-
erty for $45,000, which price includes any timber which may
be thereon, and
WHEREAS, the Property Manager and City Attorney
of the City of Kent have reviewed the offer and the apprais-
al and find that the offer reflects the fair market value of
the property, and
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the
citizens of Kent and the public generally to sell the prop-
erty to the Department of Fisheries, and
WHEREAS, the City has no present or future need
for or use of the property, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON DO
HEREBY RESOLVE:
Section 1. That the City has no present or future
need for or use of that certain property known as Icy Creek
described above.
Section 2. That the sale of the property in-
cluding any timber thereon to the Washington State Depart-
ment of Fisheries for the sum of $45,000 is hereby approved
and the Mayor of the City of Kent is hereby authorized to
sign any documents necessary to effectuate the transfer of
said property.
PASSED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
this 21st day of June, 1976.
