A RESOLUTION of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, amending the City's Forward Thrust
Arterial Street Plan, adding South !80th St.
from East Valley Highway to West Valley High-
way and West Smith St. from Central Avenue to
Fourth Avenue North, repealing Resolution 793,
and requesting King County to amend its Reso-
lution No. 34569 to show said City of Kent
additions.
WHEREAS, The City of Kent has determined to improve
South !80th Street between East Valley Highway and West Valley
Highway as a joint venture with the City of Renton, and to im-
prove West Smith Street from Central Avenue to Fourth Avenue
North as an individual City of Kent project, and
WHEREAS, neither of the above streets is currently
on the City of Kent's list of Forward Thrust Street projects,
nor on the list of Forward Thrust projects previously furnished
by the City to King County and included in King County's Reso-
lution No. 34569, and
WHEREAS, the City has previously determined to use
Forward Thrust Bond proceeds for the improvement of !80th Street
and West Smith Street and to add said streets to its Forward
Thrust Arterial Street Program, and
WHEREAS, the City has determined that it has become
impractical to complete the improvement projects in accordance
with Section 5 of King County Resolution 34569, but has deter-
mined to proceed under the provisions of Section 6 of said
Resolution, and
WHEREAS, Sections 5 and 6 of the aforesaid King County
Resolution do permit the City to authorize such amendments and
additions in order to bring all of its projects current, NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Kent, Washington, as follows:
Section 1. The above recitals are hereby found to
be true and correct in all respects. The City of Kent Forward
Thrust Arterial Street Projects previously outlined in Section
30 of King County Resolution No. 34569 be and the same hereby
are amended and modified so as to bring current and up to date
the projects specified in King County Resolution No. 34569, to
wit:
(10) Add South 180th Street from West Valley
Highway to East Valley Highway.
(11) Add West Smith Street from Central Avenue
to North Fourth Avenue.
Section 2. The King County Council is hereby req~est
ed to make the necessary amendments or additions to its Resolu-
tion No. 34569 to reflect the above referenced additions to the
City of Kent Forward Thrust Arterial Street Projects, the re-
mainder of City of Kent projects listed as (1) through (9) in
said Resolution No. 34569 to remain in full force and effect.
Section 3. Resolution 793 of the Kent City Council be
and the same hereby is repealed.
