A RESOLUTION of the City Council of
the City of Kent, Washington, amending
the Comprehensive Plan as it relates to
the proposed route of 72nd Avenue South
between South 212th and South 228th Streets.
WHEREAS, Puget Sound Power and Light Company made
proper application to the City of Kent requesting amendment
of the City's Comprehensive Plan as it relates to the pro-
posed route of 72nd Avenue South between South 212th and
South 228th Streets, and
WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Plan-
ning Commission which held a public hearing on the application,
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission found that the ex-
isting proposed route for 72nd Avenue South between 212th and
228th Streets conflicted with Puget Sound Power and Light
Company's plan for expansion of its O'Brien power facility,
which expansion had been contemplated by Puget Sound Power
and Light Company for several years, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission following the
public hearing recommended to the City Council that the Com-
prehensive Plan be amended and the proposed route for 72nd
Avenue South be changed and moved further to the west so as
not to interfere with Puget Sound Power and Light Company's
expansion program, and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on
the Planning Commission recommendation and after taking tes-
timony and allowing all persons to be heard, decided to uphold
the Planning Commission recommendation, NOW, THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON,
DO HEREBY RESOLVE:
1. The Comprehensive Plan for the City of Kent be
and it hereby is amended and the proposed route for 72nd
Avenue South between South 212th and South 228th Streets
be and hereby is adjusted to the west so as not to inter-
fere with Puget Sound Power and Light Company's expansion
program.
2. The Planning Director be and he hereby is di-
rected to make the necessary changes on the official Com-
prehensive Plan map of the City of Kent to effectuate this
action.
PASSED at a Regular Meeting of the Kent City Council
this 5th day of April, 1976.
