A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Kent, Washington, declaring surplus certain property originally acquired by the City as part of the utilities system of the City, establishing a price and terms of sale thereof, and setting a date of public hearing before the City Council. WHEREAS, the City of Kent acquired by deed dated September 4, 1956, certain property in the City for the purpose of erecting a sewer pump station as part of the utilities system of the City, and WHEREAS, said pump station was in fact built on the property and was used in the City's sewer system, and WHEREAS, the pump station is no longer necessary, and is not now nor will it be in the future a part of the City's sewer system, and WHEREAS, the Public Works Director has recommended that the property be declared surplus and that it be sold, and the City Council having considered the matter and having directed the City Administrator to determine the present value for sale purposes of the property, and the Administrator having determined that Five Hundred (500) Dollars is a ~ value for the property, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY RESOLVE: 1. The following described property situated in the City of Kent originally acquired by the City for the the con- struction of a sewer pump station is hereby declared surplus to the City's needs and not required for providing continued public utilities services; That portion of Lot 9, Meeker's Supplemental Plat First Addition to Kent, as recorded in Volume 5 of plats, page 96, records of King County, Washington, described as follows: -1- Beginning at the northeast corner of said Lot 9; thence southerly along the line of said lot 9, 73 feet; thence westerly, parallel to the north line of said Lot 9, 73 feet; thence northerly, parallel to said east line, 73 feet; thence easterly along said north line 73 feet to the point of be- ginning; EXCEPT the north 33 feet and the east 33 feet thereof. 2. The fair market value of the property is declared to be Five Hundred (500) Dollars. 3. The terms of the sale of the property shall be for cash, payable in full at the time of closing of the sale. In the event there is more than one (1) party interested in the sale, then the sale shall be by sealed bids, to be accompa- nied by certified check or money order equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid price. In the event the person submitting the best bid should decline to purchase the property, his or her deposit shall be forfeited to the City and the property shall then be sold to the next best bidder. 4. The City Council shall hold a public hearing on the proposed sale at a Regular Council Meeting to be held at 8:00p.m., August 18, 1975 in the Council Chambers at the Kent City Hall. 5. The City Clerk is hereby directed to have this Resolution published in the City's official publication one (1) time at least one (1) week prior to the date of the public hearing.
