A RESOLUTION of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington expressing its support of the NASA
Space Shuttle Program.
WHEREAS, CITY OF KENT is aware of impending Congress-
ional action which may affect the viability of the NASA Space
Shuttle Program, and
WHEREAS, CITY OF KENT believes that this program is
essential to maintaining the supremacy of the United States in
aerospace achievement, and
WHEREAS, CITY OF KENT believes that aerospace supre-
macy is vital to the welfare and defense of the Unites States,
BE IT THEREFORE
RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON that the NASA Space Shuttle Program has the un-
qualified support of this body and that this sense be communi-
cated to each member of the Washington Congressional Delegation
together with our request for their efforts to assure the con-
tinuation of the NASA Space Shuttle Program.
PASSED at a regular meeting of the Kent City Council
this 7th day of May, 1973.
