CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION NO. 707
A RESOLUTION of the City of Kent, King
County, Washington authorizing King County
to prepare a plan for the city's solid waste
management for inclusion in the County Com-
prehensive Plan.
WHEREAS, The Legislature of the State of Washington has
authorized certain grants and allowances to be extended to assist
in development of solid waste management sites and procedures in
the State of Washington, and
WHEREAS, Cities may make application for state financial
assistance accordingly in three roanners7 namely, on a city plan,
on a joint plan with the County in which it is located, or authorize
the County to prepare a plan for the city's solid waste management
for inclusion in a comprehensive plan, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire and intention of the City of
Kent, King County, Washington, to authorize the County to prepare
a plan for the City's solid waste management for inclusion in the
comprehensive county plan, all as authorized by the legiF.lature and
on application therefor, and
WHEREAS, it is the requirement that a resolution be sub-
mitted to effect the purposes above set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF KENT, KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON,
That the City Council of the City of Kent, King County,
Washington, on behalf of said City hereby authorizes King County
to prepare a plan for the City's solid waste management for in-

elusion in the comprehensive county plan and to do such other steps
as are necessary to effect and receive funds and awards for govern-
inq state financial systems for solid waste planning, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED
That the terms of participation will be mutually determined
at the onset of such a planning program.
PASSED at a regular session of the Kent City Council and
approved by the Mayor this 18th day of October, 1971.
