RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington authorizing the granting of a construction
easement to the State of Washington for the pur-
pose of building and maintaining a rock retaining
wall on a strip of land adjacent to Central Avenue
to be used in connection with the improvement of
Willis and Central Avenue.
WHEREAS, the City of Kent is the record owner of the
following described PARCEL of land:
Beginning at a point which is
565.8 feet South and 424 feet West
of the Northeast corner of the South-
east quarter of Section 24, Township
22 North, Range 4 East, W.M., in King
County, Washington, running thence
West 168.6 feet to the East boundary
line of Central Avenue in the said City
of Kent; thence North 13°24' West 215 feet;
thence starting in the same direction
continuing on a 5° curve to the right
224 feet; thence East 105 feet to the
West line of Scenic Way and the brow of
the bluff; thence Southeasterly along
the brow of the bluff and the West line
of Scenic Way 450 feet to the point of
beginning; and
WHEREAS, in the improvement of State Highway 167 (SR 167)
by the State of Washington, Department of Highways, it is necessary
for the State of Washington to obtain a construction easement on a
portion of the above described PARCEL for the purpose of building
a rock wall so that the existing right of way can be used entirely
as a roadway. The portion of land required for said easement is
a strip approximately ten (10) feet wide and Four Hundred Twenty-
six (426) feet long containing an area of 4,196 square feet and is
desc;ibed as follows:
All that portion of the above de-
scribed Parcel lying Westerly of a line
drawn parallel with a distance of 40 feet
Easterly, when measured at right angles
and/or radially to the existing SR 167

centerline of SR 516, SR 167, Kent:
South Fourth Avenue to Titus Street,
and
WHEREAS, after due consideration by the Council of the
City of Kent, it appears to said Council that it will be in the
best interest of both the City of Kent and the State of Wash-
ington that said Council to grant unto the State of Washington
the necessary construction easement for a consideration of bene-
fits to be hereinafter derived.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it hereby resolved by the Council of
the City of Kent, that the City of Kent execute said construction
easement and deliver said easement to the State of Washington,
Department of Highways.
PASSED at a regular meeting of the Kent City Council this
4th day of October, 1971.
