RESOLUTION NO. {p qf
A resolution of the City of Kent author-
izing the City Treasurer to act as Trustee for
receipt and disbursement of funds to member
cities of the Valley Regional Planning Commission.
WHEREAS, the City of Kent, along with other cities of
the Green River Valley, has in the past contributed financially
to the Valley Regional Planning Commission, and
WHEREAS, due to defalcation by an employee of the Valley
Regional Planning Commission, there developed a shortage of funds
in the Valley Regional Planning Commission treasury in the amount
of $5,934.64, and
WHEREAS, the City of Kent and other member cities have
or will make up the shortage of funds from monies appropriated
from their respective budgets, and
WHEREAS, the employee responsible for the shortage of
funds has been ordered by the King County Superior Court to make
restitution to the Valley Regional Planning Commission in the
amount of $5,934.64 payable at a minimum of $60.00 per month, and
WHEREAS, the Attorney General of the State of Washington
has consented to the City of Kent acting as Trustee of funds
received by way of said restitution, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kent,
Washington:
1. That the City Treasurer of the City of Kent be and
she is hereby designated as Trustee for funds received as res-
titution to the Valley Regional Planning Commission.
2. That the appointment of the City Treasurer as Trustee
shall be conditioned upon acceptance of said appointment by
resolution of the city councils of the other member cities of the
Valley Regional Planning Commission.
3. That upon acceptance of said appointment, said Truste
shall not be required to disburse funds to the member cities more
often than once in each calendar year.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Kent, Washing-
ton, at its regular meeting held March 1, 1971.
