WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Kent recognize
the need to encourage positive and worthwhile activities by
the young people in the Kent area; and,
WHERFAS, the Kent-Meridian High School football
players, managers, cheer leaders, marching band and student
body have worked diligently with one goal in mind; and,
WHERFAS, the Kent-Meridian football team, sophomores,
juniors, and seniors, have shown exemplary conduct both on and
off the playing field, have given dedicated effort in practice
and in scheduled games; and,
WHERFAS, the Kent-Meridian ROYALS are the undisputed
winner of the NORTH PUGET SOUND LEAGUE, now be it resolved that
I, ISABEL HOGAN, Mayor of the City of Kent, on behalf of all
the citizens of Kent do extend sincere congratulations to each
member of the squad and their coaching staff for this outstanding
achievement, and to the cheer leaders, marching band and student
body for their support of the team.
ADOPTEn at a regular council meeting this 16th day of
November, 1970.
