RESOLUTION NO. ~11·
A RESOLUTION OF THE City of Kent, Washing-
ton, authorizing application for funding
assistance for an outdoor recreation project
to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation, as provided by the Marine Recrea-
tion Land Act and the $10,000,000.00 Outdoor
Recreation Bond· Issue of 1964.
WHEREAS, the City Counci I of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, has approved a "Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan"
for the urban area, which identifies a need for open space
in the business section of the City of Kent, Washington, as
top priority; and
WHEREAS, under the provision of the Marine Recrea-
tion Land Act and the $10,000,000.00 Outdoor Recreation Bond
Issue of 1964, State and Federal funding assistance has been
authorized and made available to aid in financing the cost of
land for parks and the construction of outdoor recreation
faci I ities of local public bodies; and
WHEREAS, the City Counci I of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, considers it in the best public interest to acquire
open space area within the City of Kent, Washington, generally
located between Meeker and Gowe Street in the 300 block, in
Section 24, Township 22, Range 4 E.W.M., King County, Wash-
ington.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Counci I
of the City of Kent, Washington:
(I) That the Mayor be authorized to make formal
application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation
for fund assistance;

(2) That any fund assistance so received be used
1n the acquisition of .22 acres of land 1n the City of Kent,
Washington;
(3) That any property acquired with financial aid
through the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation be
placed in use as an outdoor recreation faci I ity and be retained
in such use in perpetuity unless .as otherwise provided and
agreed to by the City Counci I, the Interagency Committee for
Outdoor Recreation, and any affected federal agency, and
(4) That this Resolution become part of a formal
application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation.
ADOPTED by the City Counci I of the City of Kent,
Washington, at its regular meeting held June 15, 1970.
Signed and approved by the Mayor and City Clerk of
the City of Kent, Washington, this 16th day of June, 1970.
